FYI - today I opened PT3 while the Postgres service was not running (I had killed it accidentally via Windows Task Manager while trying to shut down another program). I got a message saying that I was running an old database and should create a new one. PT3 then failed to connect to the Postgres server (this was because I had shut the service down by mistake). I shut down and restarted PT3 several times, and got the same result each time.
I checked this site to see if a new Beta had been released. There was not a new beta, and I was running the most up-to-date version of PT3. I rebooted my computer, allowd Postgres to re-start, and launched PT3. PT3 launched fine and did not give me an "Old Database" message.
You may want to make sure that the "Old Database" message doesn't pop up just because Postgres isn't running correctly. That may well confuse some techno-phobic users.
