"Out of Date File required" error message

Postby sicilianfan » Wed Oct 15, 2025 3:47 pm

Hi, today when I try to use the PT4 hud on ignition, I am getting the attached image error message. I followed the instructions of closing ignition, restarting PT4 and then retrying, but the message continues to pop up. I have not had this issue before today. Thank you in advance.

A new version of the hand grabber has been released and this can be incorrectly flagged by AV software which can block hand grabber functionality. If you are using any AV software please add exceptions for/whitelist the following folders in your AV software:

C:\Users\{Windows Login}\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\Apps\SWduaXRpb24gSGFuZCBHcmFiYmVy
C:\Users\{Windows Login}\AppData\Local\PokerTracker 4\Temp

If you do not see the AppData folder in Windows File Explorer then please refer to this guide.

Hi,
Logs show repeated “Failed to open pipe” and the dialog “Ignition Hand Grabber – Out of Date File”
I fully deleted the app folder, reinstalled (v2.0.6), added Defender exclusions, temporarily disabled Real-Time Protection during reinstall, ran PT4 as admin, enabled logging, clicked “Get Hands While Playing” before launching the Bodog/Ignition client, and opened new tables.
The issue persists. Could you push the updated communicator or confirm a client update mismatch?
Thanks!

Yeah, I've got my entire PokerTracker 4 folder whitelisted in Windows Defender along with \SWduaXRpb24gSGFuZCBHcmFiYmVy and \Temp. No resolution; HUD is still unable to launch

An update for the hand grabber is now available. Please restart PokerTracker 4 with your Ignition/Bodog/Bovada poker client closed and the update will download automatically. Let us know if this resolves the issue for you.
